She sat in the bridal room with a huge smile on her face. She was getting married to her best friend and she couldn’t help but smile, in fact you probably couldn’t pay her enough to not smile. Once you see the pictures, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. If Theresa had a smile plastered on her face, Adam had one the size of the grand canyon on his. They love each other and this day was the day they got to celebrate, laugh, smile, dance, and sing (at the top of their lungs to Africa by Toto) with their friends and family.
Adam and Theresa were married at Rancho Las Lomas this past July. Kristeen of La Brot Events designed and coordinated a beautiful and elegant wedding that incorporated Adam and Theresa’s fun-loving personalities.
Adam and Theresa! You two are so unbelievably fun! I can’t thank you both enough for making me smile and laugh right along with you. Your wedding was amazing and I’m honored to have been a part of it. Thank you, a million times over!
Huge thank you to my husband who helped me shoot and helped with so much beyond that as well. And a huge thanks goes out to an amazing team of vendors who made this day beyond fun and fabulous:
Designer/ Coordination- Kristeen La Brot Events | Venue- Rancho Las Lomas | Catering- 24 Carrots Catering and Events | Make Up and Hair- Design Visage | Hairpiece- Twigs & Honey | Florist- Modern Bouquet | Invitation- Julia’s Poppies
Hannah of Modern Bouquet did an amazing job on the bouquet and the florals for the day. Plus she is so fun and sweet!
I loooove the look on Adam’s face for the first look. “oooooooh!”
The first look provides an opportunity for the bride and groom to have a private moment and for their reactions, emotions, and love to be captured in a moment like this:
See! Smiles alllll day long! I love it.
Adam and Theresa singing along to Africa by Toto. This was definitely the theme song for the night!
This past summer my good friend, Katie, and I spent a couple of days in Palm Springs for an engagement shoot and a beautiful wedding at the Viceroy. We both had our Contax film cameras and decided to practice with our beautiful, hot, desert surroundings.
Just a few shots from that day…
It’s noon and I’m finally peeling myself off the couch. My husband is at work and that can only mean one thing! I get to watch and catch up with my friends…. REALITY TV! Lala’s Full Court Life, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and Jersey Shore! Oh, how I’ve missed my friends! I know what you’re thinking! You’re thinking I have no life. Aaaand you’re probably right!
A couple of months ago, back when I had a life, I traveled to Mexico City, Puebla and other cute little towns along the way. I brought my Contax 645 and practiced my film skills on Mexico’s gorgeous architecture, old churches, and beautiful scenery.
Some things I love about Mexico:
- of course the architecture
- the history
- ornate, gorgeous churches
- you get to eat a lot and still lose weight… watch out for the cheese!
- they have Starbucks!
- the yummy sweet bread
- their coffee is to die for!
- food. every where. on every corner. but watch out for the unrefrigerated cheese!
Here are few shots from my travels.
This is my husband. He’s looking mean but he’s not
Left: I know this may be weird for me to say but that statue has a very nice behind “nalgas”. Those of you who have been there know exactly what I’m talking about
Right: a young couple at Starbucks. Every time I saw a Starbucks I would shout “There’s Starbucks!”… it got old. fast! But it felt like home to see a piece of home.
The churches of Puebla, Mexico
I’m hoping one day soon, I’ll travel to Mexico to shoot a wedding. In one of these gorgeous churches!
Churros! Of every kind!
All images were shot on the Contax 645
Film: Fujifilm 400H & Kodak Portra 400
Happy Friday y’all!
I came across this video on twitter via @jonaspeterson and it really struck a cord with me. There have been so many days when I wanted to give up… give up photography, give up trying to have a business, give up the fight all together.
It’s not easy, in fact it’s beyond exhausting… but I know if I give up, I’ll never know success.
So if y’all need a little push, a little or a heaping spoonful of motivation, go ahead and watch the video below.
