Their awkward, shy glances toward each other started three years ago. Alice was attending the University of California-Irvine and Jason would travel from San Diego State to see his close friend from high school. This friend was Alice’s roommate and that’s how Alice first laid eyes on Jason. They would steal glances and wave to each other and the waving lasted awhile… for another whole year.
Alice graduated from UCI in the summer and her and Jason no longer were stealing glances, they had moved on to hanging out together… not alone but in a group. They got to know each other slowly, shyly, and on their own terms. As their summer started to draw to a close they both knew they wanted this- excuses to sit next to each other, shy conversations, and awkward glances turned to loving gazes- to continue…
And continue it did. Jason asked Alice to be his girlfriend shortly after their summer ended and then proposed to her two years later on a family trip to South Korea. They were happily married in San Marcos at the Twin Oaks Garden Estate on a gorgeous summer day.
Alice and Jason, I completely and utterly adore you two. You both are so sweet and kind and I’m truly grateful to have met you! Thank you so much for the honor!

love this postI haven’t done a Week in Love post for at least four months -ooops, I just checked and it’s been 7 months, yikes!-… probably because I’m spending my free time on Pinterest…. well, that and it is wedding season. So I’ve combined the two to bring y’all my favorite pins for the week. Enjoy!

1. Wedding favor idea- books!
2. I have bananas waiting to be mashed into this amazing banana bread recipe. I may make this after I make #9
3. Cake batter martini… enough said
4. I love the idea of themes for senior shoots. This is in Ruche’s new catalog and it’s so cute!
5. I’m a little obsessed with anything fall and pumpkins… and I’m dieting right now… so just looking at this pumpkin pie french toast helps me make it through the day
6. DIY lavender sugar scrub- great for a gift or to keep for yourself
7. My favorite thing on pinterest so far… viewfinder wedding invitations. To die for. How do people come up with these amazing ideas? Pure genius if you ask me
8. ok maybe the viewfinder is my second most favorite thing… a blinged-out starbucks cup just took the spot for first place
9. NYT “best” chocoloate chip cookie recipe- this will probably be my first pinterest recipe I try… I’ll let y’all know how it turns out
love this postYou are probably more than half way to Flagstaff by now. You passed our old hometown of Las Vegas and you’re probably bored and cursing me for not playing my turn on words with friends. I’ll play my turn, but only if you don’t leave double word and triple word tiles open for me to take. Wining all the time is no fun so please give me a challenge
Another year of college is ahead of you. Another year of fun, stress, giggles, new friends, old friends, loud “Adrianna” laughs, new beginnings, challenges, questions, and another year to love where you are and to love who you are.
I’m tearing up as I type this… you know me, I cry ALL. THE. TIME.
Remember that I wholeheartedly love you. down right adore you.
because. you. are. BEAUTIFUL!
funny
loud
full of life
giving
smart
silly
forgiving
loving
no dancing queen, no matter how much you believe yourself to be
Good luck this year. Have fun, study, and remember to enjoy this time in your life no matter how hard and difficult it gets. I love you more than I could ever express!
These are some images of my gorgeous step-daughter that my husband and I took this past week:

love this postA few months ago I was able to attend Justin & Mary Marantz’s Walk Through a Wedding Workshop here in San Diego.
We started off at the Park Manor Suites Hotel and then moved to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Old Town San Diego for the ceremony and then finally the Estancia Hotel & Spa in La Jolla for the reception. I loved the Fools Rush In theme and the Mexican touches throughout the day.
Here are a few of my favorites of Elizabeth and Jason from the day.

Inside of the Church of the Immaculate Conception was so gorgeous and had so much history.

Izzy and Ip were so fun and were willing to do just about anything for a laugh… my type of couple

I love the idea of Mexican sweet bread and Mexican hot chocolate at a wedding!

Churros as favors are nothing but delicious!

love this postI could feel the heat through my car windows as I drove towards Palm Springs. All I could think of was who builds a city on the sun? and why would someone choose to live in such a place? This coming from a girl who moved from Las Vegas 5 short years ago. You’d think I’d be used to it… clearly not the case by my OMG! It’s so hooooot here! I don’t know if I can do this! Why does it have to be so hot?
But all of my whining subsided as soon as I pulled into the parking lot of the Ace Hotel. I was meeting Katie to help shoot Ben and Lindsey’s engagement pictures and then a wedding later that weekend. It was hot but we had so much fun! Thank you, Katie for letting me spend an amazing weekend with you!
Here are some of my favorites from that day.
We started at the Ace Hotel and then moved to the desert for some windmill and desert wind fun.

Lindsey and Ben are probably the sweetest people I’ve ever met. And gorgeous too!

some groucho marx glasses for a little sassyness and cuteness in front of the Ace sign

On a side note, King’s Highway has the best french toast!

Wind isn’t just for creating energy, it’s great for pictures too!

And of course a little pie eating contest in the desert, why not?
