It was a gorgeous fall day in Malibu. The threat of rain came true in the morning. But just like a fairytale come true, it cleared and the sun came out in all it’s glory. Warm, bright, and just gorgeous!
Rancho Del Diablo Dormido in the Malibu Hills was the perfect setting with of it’s fall colors and beautiful Spanish accents. It was an absolutely perfect place for Katie & Alex’s wedding day.
I was able to shoot this wedding alongside Heidi Ryder and I am forever thankful to her for allowing me to be a part of such a beautiful ceremony and day. Thank you Heidi!
Isn’t this chair just perfect for a wedding day? And perfect for a pair of Badgley Mischka’s!
Katie is breathtaking! And a former 49er cheerleader!
Loved the details and accents at Rancho Diablo del Dormido
The first look. Awe, it makes me smile and cry at the same time!
I love the fall colors!
My favorite. I can’t explain it but I just love it.
Music by the Estrada Brothers
Katie’s Maid of Honor framed her speech and then gave it to Katie when she was done reading it. I love the idea!
It’s the little things. That make me happy. Or proud. Or just put a smile on my face.
Some people may think I’ve lost it, my husband for one doesn’t get my obsession for fig & pomegranate trees but I love them. I can’t explain it.
I am so obsessed with fig trees that I just had to have one. And those things are not cheap. So… me and my I-can-do-that-and-better attitude decided that I could just “borrow” a branch from someone down the street and just grow my own tree. And so one night, with the help of my son, Blaine (and yes I’m using real names and have no issues with throwing him under the bus. If I go down, we all go down) and my Lola, we headed down the street. Dressed in all black. With kitchen scissors in hand.
Six weeks later. This is what I’ve accomplished. With just a branch.
It’s the little things.
Oh! Myron Rolle! You shouldn’t have tweeted me and put me on your website for the world to see.
A Carebear named after me! Harmony Bear!
When I was young, I hated my name, kind of still do. And this made me feel a little bit better when I was younger. Harmony Smurf did nothing for my ego… but Harmony Carebear was a little bit better.
Just a quick peek at four beautiful weddings coming to a blog near you.

part 2 of Tensho & Emily Los Angeles Weddding Reception at the Smog Shoppe.
Shot with Logan of Logan Cole Photography
Oh! The details and flowers! Perfection!
Old family photographs are a perfect touch to any wedding & reception.
Figs and prossciutto! mmmmm!
Tensho and Emily telling the story of how they met.
Emily got her fabulous wedding dress at H&M.
The gorgeous details and flowers where even more perfect in candle light!
Emily’s father did a magic show for part of his speech. I was secretly crying behind my camera.
“Whatcha gonna do with that?”
Emily and Tensho are perfect for each other and perfect dance partners. They literally danced the night away.
The second dress finally made an appearance. And in red!
This was a wedding of twos. It was a bi-coastal wedding. The ceremony was in New York City and the reception was in Los Angeles at the Smog Shoppe. 2 dresses. One white and the other red. And two very different stories of how Emily and Tensho met.
He claims he saw her at a bar, offered her pizza along with his phone number and she happily accepted. Both. They went out on a date and the rest is history.
She claims she was hungry. And only offered her number out of courtesy. He texted her, she replied with “I’m busy for the next two weeks.” She wasn’t trying to meet a weird guy in a bar with a weird name or date one for that matter. That’s until he got a glowing recommendation from a friend and that’s when Emily became interested. Very interested. She texted back and said she was free. She went out with Tensho and discovered he was a cool guy with a cool name.
And then she married the cool guy with the cool name.
I shot this wedding with Logan on his 18th birthday. What? Y’all didn’t know that he was just 17 and booking weddings? Yeah! He was! And is! That’s because he’s the bomb! Thank you so much Logan. I know I’ve said this before but you are truly amazing.
