It took two t.v shows for me to realize something today (who says t.v. is a waste of time?):

I was watching t.v. last night, E! News to be exact and a segment on a singer, Caitlin Crosby, was featured along with her website. The website was– a place to share your flaws in the hopes to get everyone to appreciate the differences that make us… US!

My flaw that immediately came to mind was my nose. YES! I HATE MY NOSE! And to be perfectly honest with you, I don’t know if I could learn to love it.

My realization of another existing flaw:

This afternoon I happen to catch Oprah, usually I TiVo it and then never get around to actually watching it. She had a woman on who had left her baby girl in the hot car for 8 hours. She was doing this segment to shed light on the fact that people are rushing through life, rushing to get things done and the results can be deadly.

I soooo badly want my business to be up and running that I’m not taking the time to enjoy the learning process. I’m not living in the moment when I’m constantly thinking about how and when my business will be thriving.

I’ve been so frustrated with my photography “business”. I’m frustrated because I want my photography business to be up and running, I want to be booked, I want to take pictures and actually get paid.

I want to be Jasmine Star already!

Could someone, anyone make that happen for me…PLEASE!

Obviously my only flaw is not just my nose, but my lack of patience as well. I was thinking only in terms of my physicality… as if a flaw could be a part of my personality, AS IF !  The one thing I’m not known for is my patience. If there was one word to describe me…. patient would not be it. Nowhere in the vicinity! Not even a derivative of the word would be close!

I haven’t been living in the moment. I’ve thinking about a million and one other things and not taking the time to enjoy the learning process, not having fun with it and the results are not pretty.

In light of this new found discovery, thank you Oprah and Caitlin, I will have to learn to embrace my flaws and learn to enjoy the process of my new career. So, I will make these promises to myself…

I will enjoy and cherish this whole process… good and bad.

I will live in the moment.

I will not strive for perfection but instead for happiness.

I will try to like my nose… loving it would be asking for a lot right now.

Oh, and one more thing. I will no longer keep this blog as my dirty little secret. I will love it, nourish it, and show it off! It may be an ugly duckling now but I know it will grow into a beautiful swan!

When I first saw Megan I was working at Paloma Valley High School. She was newly hired as a counselor and we were in our monthly faculty meetings when I first laid eyes on her. I immediately thought to myself, they went and hired a teenager to work as a counselor??, she really looked that young and working in a high school that is probably not the look you want. Come to find out she was young for a counselor but only because she was motivated. She was so motivated that she finished her undergrad and grad school within 6 years. She was hired within two weeks of finishing school and she proved to be a very knowledgeable counselor and fun coworker.

And although I am very proud of her motivation, I am more proud of her bravery… She is now pursuing her dream of becoming an actress!

She asked me for head shots so she could get started on her new career.

Megan, I am very, very proud of you. I am happy and grateful to call you my friend.

I wish you luck and I know you will get the perfect role!

I love all types of music and I am not ashamed to say that I even love pop music. Ok, so you’re probably saying well I love pop music too, that’s why is called pop, short for popular. I’m talking about more of the bubble gum, teenager pop music. It’s young, the lyrics are easy to memorize, and it’s fun to sing along to. Yes, it’s true, I will sing along to lyrics such as

“Cause you were Romeo – I was a scarlet letter, And my daddy said “stay away from Juliet” but you were everything to me I was begging you, please don’t go”

“There’s always gonna be another mountain I’m always gonna wanna make it move

Always gonna be an up-hill battle Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose Ain’t about how fast I get there Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side It’s the climb”

Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus are fun to sing along with!

There is another pop group that I love to sing along with but chances are you have not heard of them… yet. But chances are, you may be singing along with their fun lyrics soon, just like me! :)

Introducing D & A

A new pop group consisting of Alex and Deann. They are fun, young, and fabulous! Check out their music Myspace at
